About Our Speakers
Darren Cox, DDS, MBA Dr. Cox graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 1990 and the Universty of Pittsburg Schoool of Business in 2004. Dr. Cox was a assistant professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at the university of Pittsburg school of Dentistry from 2000 to 2005 and was also teaching the same subject at UCSF Medical Center 2005 to 2011. Dr. Cox is currently an Associate Professor of Pathology and Medicine at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.
Rita Zakher, DMD, MBA Dr. Rita Zakher is a native of Montreal, Canada. She received her DMD degree from the University of Montreal in 1992, having already earned an MBA degree from Concordia University in 1990. Dr. Zakher practiced general dentistry in Montreal before moving to the US in 2004, where she has been in charge of Clinical Affairs and education for several major dental manufactures. In addition, she has been extensively involved in the creation and production of educational coursed and material for dental professionals on the internet, as well as in print.
Travis Nelson, DDS Dr. Travis Nelson received his DDS from Loma Linda University, ans subsequently completed a residency in Pediatric Dentistry and a Masters of Public Health degree at the University of Washington. His research interests include providing dentistry for children with behavioral challenges, alternative approaches to treatment of oral disease, dental care for children with autism, and procedural sedation. Dr. Nelson works as a pediatric dentist at the University of Washington Center for Pediatric Dentistry and Seattle Children's Hospital.

Doug Chase, DDS, FICCMO Dr. Doug Chase graduated from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1979. He has a practice limited to obstructive sleep apnea, cranialmandibular cervical disorders and oral/systemicl linkages in Sonoma County. Dr, Chase is adjunct staff at the Pacific Center for Orofacial Disorders of the Arthur A. Sugoni School of Dentistry, ans serves as a research editor for MedEdPortal. He has writtne and contributed to articles and books on these topics and lectures both nationally and internationally. Dr. Chase is also a member of the American Academy of Cranialfacial Pain. He is a fellow and regent of the International college of Craniomandibular Orthopedics.
Scott Thomasson Scott Thomasson is a graduate of Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia. He is an event manager for LED Dental Inc. and is a training instructor for the oral cancer detection system VELscope.
