![]() Mark A. Latta, D.M.D., M.S. is currently the Dean and Professor of General Dentistry at the Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska. His personal research interests include prosthetic dental restorative materials, adhesives and bonding and dental material clinical trials. He received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Lafayette College in Easton, PA and worked in the chemical industry prior to attending the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Following a hospital GPR he maintained a private practice including hospital dentistry. He received his Masters in Oral Biology from the University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery and his most recent position prior to Creighton was as the Director of Research and Development for the Trubyte Division of Dentsply International. During his industrial career he contributed to or was responsible for over 20 new dental product introductions. He has been awarded more than 100 research grants for evaluating the laboratory and clinical performance of dental materials. He has published over 50 manuscripts and 170 abstracts.
